Mognet Central, the Moogles' main way of communicating with each other is down. (It's like a mail system.) The Moogles will ask you to help them out by delivering mail to their friends. You're not going out of your way, since you will meet all of the Moogles on your journey anyway. Besides, how can you say no to that face?
